A specific ability set into items, weapons, armor, Quest Items, and equipment found in chests that link said item(s) to your Byond key. Once an an object is soul bound the item cannot be passed to, used or equipped by other players and can only be used by characters under your Byond Key account. However, most of these items can still be sold to shop vendors, with the exception being quest-specific items such as the Brilliant Red Diamond.
An example would be if you had a Burning Blade and equipped it on your ranger. You could still put it in your Shared Vault if you are a subscriber, then switch to your soldier or merchant and equip the weapon after putting it into their inventory.
Once an item becomes soul bound it can not be put up for sale on Ardan's or Balzackia's marketplace, most notably because whoever bought the item would be unable to equip it.
