Magic Defense

Magic Resist is a hidden stat which is derived from roughly 38.7% of the INT stat. It directly decreases the amount of damage taken from magic spells. For example: A monster with 40 magic defense will take 30 less damage from a given magic spell than a monster with 10 magic defense.
