Instant Kill

Instant Kill abilities, despite their designation, do not instantly kill every possible target. Depending on the caster and the target(s), multiple outcomes are possible:

• When used by a player or companion against other players or bosses, an Instant Kill ability inflicts critical spell damage.
• When used by a player or companion against non-bosses or companions, an Instant Kill ability instantly kills the target.
• When used by a monster against players, fellow monsters, or companions, an Instant Kill ability instantly kills the target. This case is the only way for a player to be instantly killed.
