This implies that the item is found strictly as or optionally as a post-fight reward.  This rate can be increased by item find (also known as the [[Character_Statistics#Plus_Item|ITEM]] stat), the special abilities of other items, skill points ([[Merchant|merchant]] only) or by stat boosting seeds, up to a maximum of 50%.  So if an item normally has a 2% drop chance an item find of 50% will increase that chance to 3%.
