Companions, also known as monster followers, were added in the v1.63 patch. They allowed players a completely new variety of strategy by choosing companions that could make it much easier to kill monsters and bosses, whilst keeping the multiplayer side of the game intact due to the fact that companions do not have as good reliability as playable classes.
Recruiting Companions
- Have the reputation rank required for recruiting them. Reputation rank is earned by doing quests or killing monsters; the amount necessary for a certain monster depends on the area.
- Go to the area the companion is in and defeat one; it may decide to join you. You cannot recruit more than one companion per battle.
- If you have a full party, it will go to the companion ranch of the player. Note that if the ranch is full you cannot receive the companion.
